Also Obesity is primarily Not a Disease for it is primarily caused by an energy imbalance between ‘Calories consumed and Calories expended’. It is mainly as a result of an Unhealthy Diet and a lack of Regular Exercise, an overly Sedentary lifestyle

Labour dragging the country further and further into Debt with UK Borrowing costs higher than any European country whilst failing comprehensively to tackle the major issues facing Britain today

Chancellor Healey, your words of resignation from Starmer’s government will be coming back to haunt you when you deliver your Autumn Budget and fail to honour your commitment to raising Defence spending to 3.0% of GDP

p.s And as for Davey and his Lib Dems who are collectively totally out of touch and represent today an increasingly irrelevant Party when erroneously deciding to go against the Court ruling that determined the legal definition of a woman is based on Biological sex, a ruling supported by the vast majority of the British people. What is ‘discriminatory and unworkable’, is how UK Businesses should somehow balance the rights of people identifying as Trans when it comes to the protection of Single Sex spaces

p.p.s Also considered alarming is McIlroy’s golf game when continuing to make ill judged decisions that result in Bogey after Bogey as well as missed Birdie opportunities on the easier holes; also as a result of wayward Tee shots on Par 3 holes, even shots from the middle of the fairway, turning a potentially great first round in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth into one marred by completely avoidable mistakes so earning him no less than 3 Bogeys in his last 8 holes. Falling to 3 under Par having played his first 10 holes in well under Par, regrettably his playing dropping him into Tied 22nd. R2 and McIlroy almost blows his chances when making an absolute hash of two of the easiest holes on the golf course, the Par 4 8th and 16th holes for Bogey; add to which missing two very makable Putts for Birdie on both the 12th and 13th holes, however finishing strongly with back to back Birdies leaving him on 8 under Par in Tied 6th for the opening two rounds. R3 and McIlroy plays the 8th hole for three days running like a man lost again making Bogey, this time taking three Putts from just 10-12 feet to then be followed by a senseless Bogey on the 9th. A pity McIlroy cannot Putt as well as his playing partner Fox who is two shots to the better after only 9 holes; McIlroy’s Iron play and Putting over the Front nine has been poor consequently dropping down 17 places on the leaderboard, pretty well the only golfer in the top 25 not under Par for the first nine holes. His poor Iron play exemplified on the 13th hole when from just 124 yards in the middle of the fairway he leaves his shot some 33 feet from the hole. Then at the 16th hole missing the simplest of Putts from 4 feet 6 inches, unable as he has been all day long to properly read Putts. After a disappointing 16 holes, McIlroy finishes with a Birdie and a brilliant Eagle to end his round on 3 under Par ,leaving him at 11 under in Tied 6th, 2 shots off the lead. McIlroy’s woeful Putting however continues into R4 missing genuinely makable Putts within 6 feet for Birdie on holes 2,3 & 5, seemingly still not able to read a Putt from 4-8 feet proving to be possibly the worst Putter in the top half of the leaderboard. Missing yet another very makable Putt on hole 9 before making a complete a mess of the 11th hole with Bogey, all but ending his chances of winning when finding himself at only 1 under Par after the first 11 holes. His display of poor Putting simply continues with an easy Putt missed from less than 5 feet on hole 13. Finally McIlroy converts, at the Par 3 14th, a Putt from within 6 feet to go to 14 under Par. After a Birdie on the 17th, McIlroy misses a gettable 6 feet Putt for his Birdie on the 18th hole ,finishing his round on 4 under Par and 15 under in Tied 2nd for his week’s work. Had he not Putted so poorly from short distance over his last two rounds he might well have ended up winning the event or at least in a Playoff

Britain has rapidly descended into being the ‘Sick Man of Europe’, unable to Control its Borders despite the assurances of countless Politicians speaking with forked tongue and unable to get to grips with a broken Asylum system that is failing to deal head on with the abject failings of a system choked by unchecked wholesale abuse. The constant abuse of a system that is allowing illegal migrants to openly falsify their claims for Asylum by any and all means liberally at their disposal, thereby failing to deport the 80% of Asylum seekers who ultimately have no justification whatsoever to remain in Britain

Weak Government failing to act in the interests of the nation and of its people, seemingly handcuffed by left-wing Politicians and so termed ‘do gooders’ whose actions are doing no good whatsoever for the country as a whole

It beggars belief to think that Politicians are collectively doing little or nothing to effectively address the scandal that has become the Asylum system when Britain continues to house in hotels some 5,000 illegal migrants whose claims and appeals have already been totally Rejected, so allowing rapists and other criminals to stay who absurdly claim that deportation would somehow damage their mental health; what a ‘bloody nonsense’ most people would have every right to exclaim

On top of which, the British Government has apparently instructed the RNLI(Royal National LifeBoat Institution, which is a wholly registered Charity ,totally independent of government, to help ‘fish’ illegal migrants out of the Channel which they should not only never have been asked to do ,nor should they have been expected to do so as unpaid volunteers

And on the subject of Mental Health or indeed Illness, another absolute scandal left to fester unchecked in Britain, is the disturbing fact that GP’s, General Practitioners no less are being permitted to sign people off on the basis of Mental Health issues, something No GP in the country is trained to do. To issue a so called ‘Fit Note’ that allows young people to sign off work for no good reason, other than ones that they have perhaps invented, after the very briefest of consultations with a GP who is unfit to diagnose accurately Mental Illness when not one single GP has been found to have either denied such a Request or refereed any individual to a recognised expert in the filed of Mental Health. GP’s up an and down the country handing out ‘Free Passes’ into an already drastically overblown Welfare system with the ability to readily claim Benefits for years to come of which many are neither entitled or indeed deserving thereof seeing as it is all too easy to access on line forums which give easy answers when faced with untrained and unsuspecting GP’s who lets face it, are totally out of their depth when it comes to diagnosing matters of Mental Illness

The ongoing unhealthy practice of Self-Certification when it comes to Mental Health is nothing short of INSANE

Britain’s Welfare system allowed by Government to remain completely out of control. Britain with close to 15% of its young people declared as being NEET’s(neither in employment or training) compared with 5% in countries the likes of the Netherlands

Britain is its worst enemy with successive totally inept Governments failing again and again to take the right course of action, failing to make the right decisions

It is little wonder that those better off are looking to relocate to another country for Britain is truly and hopelessly Broken when Governments continue to tinker around the edges rather than properly equip themselves to tackle head on the biggest issues facing the country which are all too often left untreated and unresolved

Politicians of today more concerned with protecting their ‘jobs’ and with their ‘own popularity’ than getting on with the business of strong and resolute leadership, governing for the long term health and well-being of Britain and its people

The old saying, ‘that you CanNot fool, or please for that matter, all of the people all of the time, only some of the people all of the time or all of the people some of the time’ is perhaps for some all too painfully Obvious and yet perfectly TRUE

p.s Watching Britain not only sink further and further behind but also continue to be behind the times as clearly shown by the all too painful Assisted Dying vote with Parliament once again proving to be completely out of touch with the will of the people. Time to remind the ‘sit on the fence’ Prime Minister, every single MP in fact, that it is your duty to serve your constituents, put their wishes and concerns ahead of your own inflated egos, feelings of self-importance, your personal and religious beliefs. Burnham should ask MP’s on both sides of the house to demonstrate whether or not they first took the time to establish how their constituents would have wanted them to vote when some 75% of the British Public support the need to introduce Assisted Dying into Law without more and more delays. This when fully taking on board that Britain has an ever increasing aged population and that there remains to this very day, a distinct lack of Palliative care available in communities throughout Britain which has meant that many hundreds of people die each and every day in sheer agony without any support whatsoever other than from their family

p.p.s Day 2 of the Irish Open and McIlroy’s Putting seemingly no better than that of a high handicap weekend golfer when missing a number of easy Putts within 3-6 feet. On just 2 under Par after two rounds having carded 3 Bogeys in R2 and a Double in R1 thus leaving him in Tied 22nd place way off the lead held by Lowry at 11 under Par when scores of 3 under and better in R2 was relatively easy to come by on a day offering up the most favourable of golfing conditions. R3 and McIlroy is right back to doing what he has been doing best of late; that of making plenty of Bogeys; 2 Double Bogeys and 3 Bogeys no less, going into the last round in Tied 50th place at 2 over Par,18 shots worse than the leader after only 3 rounds. A total of 4 Double Bogeys and 8 Bogeys far from being a good week’s work. Hopefully McIlroy will show up with his ‘A’ game at the BMW Championship at Wentworth and avoid making so many Bogeys

Day 2 of the Solheim Cup where there has been some great golf in evidence, sadly though not from the European pairing of Hull & Woad who were all too easily trounced in both of their Foursome matches. The European captain could well be criticised for putting Hull & Wood out in the afternoon Fourballs to lose yet again, following a poor performance in the morning Foursomes, to return only one half a points after playing all four matches over the opening two days. Both Hull and Woad fortunately redeeming themselves with a win a piece in the Singles matches to help bring home the Solheim Cup to Europe

Politicians once again ‘putting the cart before the horse’ by not tackling head on what needs to be done now and by not listening to the views of the majority of the British people and in so doing constantly putting their personal feelings at front and centre

By all means Andy introduce a ‘Death Tax’ to help pay for Social Care ,but make sure that this Tax is paid by all those totally misguided people who voted for Brexit, who effectively collectively bankrupted Britain by wiping £100 billion a year off Britain’s now beleaguered Economy

But you will first need to radically reduce the spiralling, out of control, ballooning Cost of Welfare

Only today have the British people learned of the scandalous survey undertaken by the Department of Work and Pensions which set out to encourage no less than 16.8 million people to self identify as Disabled

Get real Burnham and cease from constantly articulating your left wing thinking in public so as to increase your popularity when what you should be doing is thinking more strategically and realistically before announcing daily yet another grandiose plan to ‘Rewire Britain’, which by the way you will be more than likely forced to step back from when finally taking on board that the cupboard is somewhat bare and that Britain is for all intense and purposes broken; backward, slow to modernise, behind the times

One step at a time PM Burnham for you cannot ‘eat the elephant’ of gross mismanagement by successive governments over the last twenty years and more in One Go, the simple answer being to ‘focus on one leg at a time’

For example his idea to pursue significant Constitutional Change at the same time as pursuing his highly advertised agenda on issues such as devolution, social care and public control of utilities, would tie up the UK Government and Parliament for years and in so doing detract from progress being made on any other front

Britain sadly no longer ‘the land of hope and glory’ despite your unrelenting promises to Fix Britain

PM Burnham you have had quite long enough; it is time that you started to fully Support(not just with words) Ukraine’s defence against continued Russian aggression and help to persuade Trump to permit Ukraine to manufacture the Patriot missile defence system; for in case you did not yet realise, it is Russia’s warmongering, with the assistance of the rogue State of North Korea, that is not only a real threat to the security of Britain, but also a wider threat to NATO countries; and whilst you are delving into, for you unchartered International affairs, you might want to refrain from cosying up to China for they are never going to be a friend of the West when their sole ambition is that of more Power, Subterfuge and Control and not just of their own people. The Inflated Egos of three narcissistic men seemingly wiling to jeopardise stability and world peace, not unlikely to lead mankind into a Third World Warrd

p.p.s McIlroy back on the Bogey trail with 4 Bogeys and 1 double Bogey at the St Jude Classic, ends his first round way way down the bottom of the leaderboard in 68th place at 4 over Par, 6 shots behind his playing partner Scottie Scheffler and 9 shots off the lead after an exceptionally poor round of golf, his entire game in utter disarray.Round 2 and McIlroy is handed a golf lesson from Scheffler who shoots 9 under Par compared to McIlroy’s lacklustre even Par round leaving him 15 shots off of the lead held by Scheffler after just two rounds. Round 3 and yet another desperately flawed round of golf at 2 over Par leaving him at 6 over Par for the tournament with 5 of these dropped shots coming at the Par 4 18th hole alone and firmly positioned all but at the very bottom of the leaderboard, a quite staggering 19 shots off the lead.McIlroy’s appalling form continued into Round 4 with no fewer than 5 Bogeys and 1 Double Bogey, ending his week in 66th place at 8 over Par and a staggering 25 shots worse than Scottie Scheffler the eventual winner, his play more akin to that of an Amateur golfer; his overall golf game having gone distinctly downhill since winning his 2nd Masters

McIlroy blows opportunity in final round to win BMW Championship, missing an easy short Putt for Par at the 7th hole followed by 3 very makable Putts for Birdie on holes 14,15 and 16 and then making a complete mess of a gettable Birdie opportunity on the 17th hole where he unfathomably made Bogey. McIlroy seemingly unable to properly read the line of Putts.His round of only 1 under Par should have been at least 3 shots better when finishing in 3rd place on a day when his final round all but disappoints, although perhaps encouraging for the end of season Tour Championship at East Lake where he has won three times

First two rounds at the Tour Championship and McIlroy is doing what McIlroy does best, making Bogeys and double Bogey. The final round and McIlroy makes 3 Bogeys in the first three holes; his golf game quickly falling apart as Scheffler easily makes Birdies over the opening stretch. Four Bogeys on the front nine alone hardly considered to be good golf and to then go and miss an easy four feet Putt on hole 17 thereby racking up yet another Bogey, his Fifth of the day.

McIlroy’s problem as it currently stands, is that he simply makes far too many Bogeys and until such time as he addresses this glaring fact, he would seem unlikely to Win again

World Cup 2026 and the beautiful game descends into disrepute with the quite frankly despicable display of non-sportsmanlike behaviour at the hands of the Paraguay football team and by the that of the abject, if not bias, non-performance by the Uzbekistan referee who should be barred by FIFA from ever taking charge of an international football match again

One might not be wrong in thinking that the Referee had somehow been bribed or indeed intimidated having freely handed out 3 Yellow cards to French players who committed a total of some 11 less than desirable offences and yet inexplicably failing to hand out a single Yellow card for the 13 cynically aggressive actions from the Paraguay players on show throughout the entire match

The overall standard of Refereeing at this World Cup has been generally poor

Football would seem to have descended into a game of who can Cheat,Foul and Fake injury the most with only a handful of truly talented players, such as Messi and Mbappe, able to respect the great game which today is closer to that of a game for ‘Gentlemen played by Hooligans’

Sadly, unlike the altogether better behaved game of Rubgy, football has fallen to an all time low in the behavioural stakes; footballers of the modern game can no longer be regarded as other than Bad Role Models whose all too visible somewhat abusive ways are negatively effecting the behaviour of young people today

The World Cup 2026 has descended into a relentless display of histrionics, play acting and foul play, which has been allowed to go continually unchecked by the games’ ruling body and by officials alike who choose to turn a blind eyes to increasingly totally unacceptable behaviour on the pitch

The future of the game has regrettably descended into disrepute

1-0 to the exponents of the less than beautiful game is surely a sad state of affairs

Argentina V Egypt and Messi misses yet another Penalty,Mcallister misses an easy header directed into the goalkeeper’s hands and Alvarez misses in effect a relatively straight forward tap in; result Egypt 1 ahead at half time; the second half and Egypt score first to go 2-0 up but then within a space of a matter of four minutes close to the the 90 minute mark, Argentina score two fabulous goals, one a header and the other a quite amazing strike from Messi followed shortly thereafter by a magical header during stoppage time to seal the deal and win the tie 3-2. Some game, though somewhat marred in the end by Egypt’s players and coaches earning themselves a handful of Yellow cards. However do not let Messi take another Penalty in normal play, perhaps only in a Penalty shoot-out

Finally an entertaining World Cup match with 10 Goals, France 4 v England 6, but then came a Final which disappointed from start to finish for whilst Spain were worthy winners, the pitiful performance of the Argentinian players left a sour taste for this was football at its very worst; little wonder why Messi chose to sit alone on the field after the game so as to distance himself from the disgraceful antics of his fellow teammates; Messi being the only Argentinian player to congratulate and shake hands with the Spanish players at the end of the match

Andy Burnham, Prime Minister wannabe, is getting all set to ‘blow-up’ Britain when looking to install his left wing mates and form his cabinet of sheep; so Sir Keir, you would be best advised to keep clear of Andy’s Cabinet for you will not want to hit rock bottom for a second time

If you thought that Liz Truss was bad for the country, just wait until Burnham occupies the top job

Already announcing that he wants to take-over all of Britain’s Water companies, perhaps Energy too, at a cost of billions of Taxpayers money with No guarantees whatsoever that this will result in the reduction of consumer bills when the smarter thing to do would be to form Not-for-Profit entities; to also resurrect HS2 Birmingham to Manchester yet another complete waste of Taxpayers money whilst establishing a No 10 B North in his beloved Manchester before embarking on a massively costly project to build an entirely new facility on a brownfield site

Already making U-turns when firstly going back on his promise to compensate WASPI women and then deciding against increasing the Personal Tax threshold which has been frozen for five years

His thinking to Nationalise everything, so watch how Services will all but likely decline even further over the long term when knowing how productivity suffered under past British Nationalisation efforts

Just look out the British people for under Burnham’s left wing government, Taxes are going to rise so as to pay for all of Burnham’s intended policies to give back ‘everything’ to the people by way of his ‘Grand Devolution’ plan

And to cap it all, Burnham will still be faced with the International headwinds linked to Wars in Ukraine and Iran, also not forgetting Trump being no longer a fan of Britain, nor indeed of him for that matter and with the need to markedly increase Defence spending to see off the threat of Russian continued aggression throughout Europe

The man will ultimately prove to be inept, out of his depth on the International stage and will be unable to balance the books given his intended wholesale Domestic agenda

Burnham will likely prove ineffectual in dealing with the EU who are already working closely with Starmer’s government to strike a deal on Energy with the bloc. A new EU/UK deal on Electricity whereby Britain and the bloc will be able to rely on each other to supply cheap energy resulting in wholesale costs coming down and subsequently lower bills for consumers. With inter-connectors currently buried deep in the North & Irish seas connecting Britain to Europe, these can be used to import cheaper electricity from overseas as and when needed so that on windless, freezing days, instead of firing-up expensive domestic gas plants, Britain can import French nuclear power as well as be in a position to export Britain’s own Clean Surplus Energy rather than paying for Wind Farms to switch-off which is happening all too often and costing the country £3.2 billion a year. Britain currently stuck in a system of buying cable space/electricity blind through middlemen without even knowing what the final price will be

also the work of Starmer’s government, that of having secured a £9 billion investment from Japan in Offshore Wind

and finally Starmer confirming, much to the delight of over 80% of the general public, the long awaited Banning of under 16’s accessing harmful Social Media content which has largely contributed to the steep rise in Mental Health cases amongst Britain’s increasingly anxious and less resilient youth

Good job that Burnham understands none of this ,that there is no Defence security without Economic security; and no Economic security without Energy security

What Burnham needs to understand is the dire need to reduce the debilitating, highly bloated Welfare system which requires a total overhaul given that Britain is incredulously forking out millions upon millions of pounds each year in Personal Independent Payments to young people aged 16-24 claiming that they cannot possibly work because of ADHD,Autism,Anxiety and Depression

Good luck Britain and the British people for the waters are going to get even choppier with the expected ‘coronation’ of Andy Burnham; Britain’s Political system in ruins as Britain prepares to send Andy into Downing Street, his overly willing left wing flock in tail lead by the idealist that is Ed Miliband, on a carpet of pure popularity solely because people like him and yet without a halfpence of knowledge or experience in International affairs when it comes to dealing with the likes of the USA, the EU/EU Countries, NATO and indeed Ukraine and with No Mandate to govern from the people of Britain in accordance with Labour’s Manifesto on which the Party was elected

Burnham’s government should cut all aid to Pakistan, currently standing at £51 million per year, whilst Pakistan still allows ‘Karo-Kari ‘which are not ‘Honour Killings’ but unchecked brutal murders of women committed without fear of arrest and judicial process

Labour has gotten this ‘psycho-drama’ completely wrong and should if they cared at all about the views of the British electorate, call a General Election for a ‘coronation’ of this kind is fraught with obstacles down the line for such rhetoric as ‘Rewire Britain’ is simply not going to ‘cut the mustard’.

Reducing by £45 a households annual Electricity bill is but a ‘drop in the ocean’ when this paltry amount should be substantially increased for households that are struggling with the Cost of Living and conversely not one penny should be given to those households who simply do not need the money

Britain’s 7th Prime Minister in just a Decade; Britain a decade on from the Brexit Blunder(£100 billion a year lost in Trade and £40 billion in Tax Revenue) the laughing stock of the rest of the world, for unfortunately there are a good number of disloyal, self-interested, not wildly intelligent people in the Labour Party who cannot see further than the end of their own nose for the British people are still yet to find out what the new PM’s position is on such vitally important issues as the rejoining of the Single Market

No Lucky Strike this time as McIlroy implodes at the US Open carding 19 Bogeys and 1 double Bogey

Rory McIlroy may well rue his poor playing of his final two holes in Round 1 of the US Open when making Bogey on both holes 8 & 9 from the middle of the fairway resulting from indifferent iron play, chipping and putting. McIlroy’s second shot from only 80 yards in Round 2 to the 10th hole more that of a high handicap golfer ending in yet another avoidable Bogey for shots like this are surely not going to win him the tournament when having missed a relatively easy putt for Birdie on the previous hole. Then to follow up with another Bogey on the Par 3 11th hole after a quite terrible tee shot which flew well over the green to be answered with the most ordinary of chip shots just like at the 10th hole. Unbelievably a third Bogey in a row coming at the 12th hole. I am sorry but McIlroy really does play golf like a bit of a fool at times, his Caddie seemingly of no help whatsoever to whom he does not listen when it comes to giving any advice. Overall a highly disappointing round of golf with a double Bogey to follow and a score of 1 over Par for the day when 2 under Par was infinitely achievable, thereby ending McIlroy’s chances of coming out on top at this year’s US Open when finding himself already adrift by 7 shots off the lead with two rounds to play. Round 3 and i was simply amazed to see McIlroy play the 10th hole in the identical fashion as in Round 2, this time from only 50 yards hitting his second shot well over the green and making Bogey yet again as if he had learned absolutely nothing from how he had so poorly played the hole the previous day. To then make another Bogey on the 12th hole from the middle of the fairway with a wedge in hand, mirroring just how poorly he had played the same hole in Round 2. Hard to understand how anybody could play quite so stupidly two days running, to then miss a very makable putt for Birdie on the 13th hole, followed by missing an even easier putt on hole 14 and in doing so making yet another Bogey, for the way in which McIlroy goes about his golf game is nothing short of embarrassing at times for his many fans to watch, for somehow he would seem good at throwing away shots. Having clocked-up a staggering 6 Bogeys on day 3 with a score of 3 over Par ,McIlroy headed down the leaderboard to Tied 17th whilst Scheffler rose to Tied 2nd . A simply calamitous round of golf embedded with poor wedge play and putting. On this showing. McIlroy will likely struggle to end the week in the top ten . McIlroy used to be considered exciting to watch play the game; now it is just frustrating to see him go about his game when making so many basic errors of judgement and execution. Hopefully his final round will prove to be somewhat more inspiring, although missing the simplest of putts for Par at just the second hole , a poor wedge shot adding to yet another Bogey on the third hole and recording a further Bogeys on the relatively straightforward Par 5 5th Hole(the easiest hole on the golf course)and then on the 9th Hole too, 4 Bogeys on the front nine alone (and not a single Birdie) carrying on from his long Bogey streak of Round 3; McIlroy’s game seemingly in complete and utter disarray, producing a dismal performance about as bad as it gets, his ability to make Bogeys seemingly unstoppable with a total of 6 Bogeys in his final round. His week’s work ending with 19 Bogeys and 1 Double Bogey in Tied 32nd place

McIlroy possibly one of the worst Putters on Tour from within 4 feet; also low down the list when it comes to his Iron play off the Tee on Par 3 holes whereby more often than not he struggles to make Par. McIlroy has recently become known for playing one Poor round of Golf in every tournament as ably demonstrated by his relatively poor R3 at the Scottish Open 2026 with 4 Bogeys and a score of 3 over Par; 7 shots worse on the day than playing partner Matt Fitzpatrick who finished tied for the lead on 12 under Par going into the final round and 6 shots worse than Chris Gotterup who ended on 11 under Par in tied 4th ,with McIlroy falling to a lowly 6 under Par in tied 26th place, so unable to blame the misty and )slightly windy conditions for what turned out to be a decidedly underwhelming performance

Hopefully McIlroy will put 4 good rounds together at the British Open at Royal Birkdale; though not looking likely given his opening 10 holes when not only does he once again fail to make Par the two Par 3 holes but he also misses no fewer than 3 easy Putts from within 4 feet , ranked as being all but the worst Putter on the course; McIlroy 3 over Par after only 12 holes. A total of 6 Bogeys(including at both Par 5’s), some really poor Putting and at times wayward Iron play and indifferent Chipping, McIlroy finishes R1 at 2 over Par in Tied 87th, his really poor short game carrying into the front nine in R2 when found to be constantly blaming the greens for his dismal putting on a morning of easy golfing conditions missing opportunity after opportunity to make Birdie and avoidably making one silly Bogey in the process, finally making a Putt on the Par 5 14th Hole for a much needed Birdie. Although an improvement on day one at 3 under Par, it was a round that should have been better given the very favourable scoring conditions for the morning starters, leaving him at 1 under Par, some 7 shots off of the lead in Tied 38th

R3 and it only takes McIlroy 3 holes to miss a straightforward 4 feet Putt and make Bogey. He has to be possibly the worst Putter on tour within 4 feet. Then to make another Bogey on the Par 3 4th hole after a wayward tee shot, a dreadful Putt from off the green and a missed Putt. Two Over after 4 Holes and McIlroy’s tournament is effectively OVER. Another Bogey coming at the 11th hole, McIlroy at only even Par for his round on a day when Ryan Fox has carded a 62(the third player in two days to set an Open Championship record), an 8 under Par round. 3 Bogeys put paid to what could have been a good round of golf at just one under Par leaving McIlroy Tied 29th on 2 under Par with little or no hope of collecting the Claret Jug come Sunday

Final round and McIlroy continues to throw away shots, failing to make Birdie on the short Par 4 5th Hole from just off the Green ,then a poor tee shot on the Par 3 7th hole where he would once again make Bogey, followed up with another Bogey on 11. His progress not for the first time stalling, then going backwards with a Double Bogey on hole 16. McIlroy’s Putting throughout the week nothing short of abysmal; the only highlight of his game being that of his Driving off the Tee. His R4 finishing with yet another Bogey, ending in 1 over Par for the day and only 1 under Par in Tied 40th for the tournament after a highly lacklustre and disappointing week’s performance with most parts of his game in dissaray

The British people are constantly being reminded of the apparent stupidity of the British Government firstly over Brexit, the decision to call a Referendum on a complex issue which very few people in Britain fully understood at the time and then failing to set the Bar at 60%; an egregious act of self-harming that has left the UK both diminished and isolated; centuries of history as one of the great free-trading nations of the world ended with the UK erecting a hard border with the EU and as far as trade with the USA was concerned, relegated to the back of the queue

Brexit having:

-Weakened the Pound from $1.50 prior to the vote to $1.34 today

-Slowed UK Growth leaving the UK Economy 6-8% smaller than 33 other advanced countries

-Hindered Trade due to Border friction, trade barriers with the EU bloc

-Sapped Business Investment which has fallen by 18%

-Caused Employment/Workforce participation to suffer, the worst-performing in the G7

And then the now ridiculously ill considered Equalities Act, the Public Sector Equality Duty which shows that All Common Sense thinking has gone out of government. Politicians have gotten the balance all wrong when ethic minorities take every opportunity to call out against racist remarks when there is little or no justification

The British people left to live with the consequences of sheer stupidity, the woeful lack of intelligent thinking on the part of Britain’s Politicians

The idea that Britain’s Public Sector workers should consider how their daily work might have an impact on people with differing characteristics including age, sexuality, religion and race, making absolutely No practical sense whatsoever

Decisions that only serve to divide further the people of Britain, creating more and more bureaucracy and a waste of public money whilst removing All Fairness from society when pushing diversity and inclusive training resulting in more harm than good

and why is Britain not immediately deporting Illegal migrants, Asylum seekers who have absolutely no right to be given sanctuary, leave to stay in Britain especially the many Unchecked migrants who are entering Britain through the back door via Ireland, left totally unchallenged and freely accepted into Britain

When is Britain finally going to get a government that understands the Bigger Picture instead of continually bringing-in legislation that favours one group/tribe or another, which makes life harder for business to operate successfully, harder for the public sector to function effectively and harder for individuals to comprehend their place in society

The British people expect far better from Britain’s Politicians than the simple exercise of Box-Ticking which would appear to be Westminster’s sole modus operandi, fuelled by artificial targets and driven by identity politics when the country needs to be more focused on results and delivery and not performative values that offer no real value at the end of the day. Government, more often than not, taking far too much time mulling over decisions to then take the wrong course of action, frequently favouring inaction in process

Britain needs to remove the handcuffs that are holding back business and society from functioning at its best

Britain’s Politicians need to come to their senses and realise that they are hindering progress at every level, are ultimately not improving life for anyone in the UK when constantly failing to act on the issues that really matter to the British people and refrain from putting their personal wants and beliefs, often purely emotional, ahead of what is in the interests of the majority of people in Britain

And cease from making foolish vanity driven decisions such as that of HS2, which was never needed and will never be needed at a cost of some £100 billion pounds and still rising, a total waste of taxpayers money with zero return on investment

To British Politicians everywhere, get more strategic in your thinking, stop from fiddling around the edges and thinking only in the short term and in doing so making matters, the dire situation in which Britain finds itself today, get ever worse

Britain is on the brink of collapse when facing its 6th Prime Minister in just 7 years which shows that Politics in Britain has become all about the ambitions of individual Politicians and little to do with governing for the good of the people, the long term economic and social well being of the country

Recent history has proven that Populist leaders make the worst of leaders and Andy Burnham, and of course Nigel Farage, fit this bill perfectly. Burnham does not have what it takes to become Prime Minister, neither does Farage. Time will prove this to be the case as Britain falls further behind, out of step with all of Europe and with an increasingly less favourable relationship with the US

To the good people of Makerfield; perhaps you have a difficult choice; either that of a mindless decision by voting for Reform, ‘Money-Grabbing’ Farage or by voting for ‘Flip-Flopper’ Populist Burnham; so maybe it might just be better at this juncture to vote for the Greens who have no hope of ever governing and thereby spare the country of untold misery and even greater hardship for the foreseeable future, for spend, spend, spend, that of simply lowering taxes and bringing about an end to immigration is not the panacea you are being promised; just ask Liz!

Although Burnham can be right in expressing that central government policies over the last number of decades has created an economy that benefits the well off and fails working people; compounded by over privatisation that feeds into the hands of the rich by the stripping of resources and power from local government which has directly led to the loss of jobs, decline of hight streets and the neglect of towns across the entire North of England, that does not make him right for high office

Successive inept governments having failed the British people with a policy of control and working with agencies that have little if any understanding of local businesses and communities

I therefore seriously doubt whether Parliament has ever before housed so many conceited, self-important, self-interested, overly emotional, unqualified, seemingly unintelligent, uninspiring, undignified, and incapable of better judgement a bunch of MP’s willing to constantly put their narrow minded and often emotional thinking, never strategic, at the forefront of politics ,thereby prepared to risk the health of the nation for years to come as if Brexit has not done enough damage

Britain has most assuredly ‘gone to the dogs’, has lost it’s way ,fast approaching an irrelevant nation on the world stage

Like it or not, Britain has indeed become ‘an island of strangers’, partly as a result of Britain’s utter failure, unlike in Australia, to integrate largely Muslim immigrants into British society and culture, a relative high number of whom have turned to a life driven by crime

Britain’s future becoming ever darker by the day as Chaos and Uncertainty reigns supreme

British Politicians continuing to make a never ending Mess of things, showing the world just how unfit Britain’s Politicians have become to even consider themselves as serving MP’s charged with putting the interests of the bigger picture, of the country ahead of themselves, their self-indulgent, self-satisfying often soft decision making

Britain is buried in the past and too weak to Change; the likes of Mr Popular, Andy Burnham will not make any difference whatsoever in the long run for any injection of hope will prove temporary at best, will not result in meaningful, measurable and lasting improvement whatever the man might say in his bid, his desire for the top job; his wanting to Nationalise everything at once will prove disastrous for the economy, starting with the Water industry, for such momentous change will put a huge dent in the public finances from which the public purse will not recover, for comparing Manchester buses to an industry that is nationwide is almost laughable

If Britain is to become ‘great’ again, it will require STRONG LEADERSHIP with a vision, mission and long term strategy that is not frightened to bring about radical change to a failing economy and a socially divided country by way of such measures as rejoining the single market and customs union, bringing down the cost of welfare and reducing the size of the state as well as introducing a points based immigration system ,similar to that of Australia, which only lets people into the country with the Skills that are actually needed for the economy to grow and the nation to prosper

Labour is making a big mistake by looking to change leader after such a short period of time on the basis of popularity alone for it will surely result in distraction and disruption making it even more difficult to effect anything long term when they should be focussing on Policy and Not Politics; although Starmer is wrong to suggest that there is not a Two-Tier Policing system in place which errs on the side of ethnic minorities

What appears to be the sheer naivety, ignorance ,stupidity even of large sections of the British public is all but turning Britain into an ungovernable nation, rendering the office of Prime Minister the ‘Impossible Office’ , born out by the worrying fact that most British people believe that Net Migration is rising and not falling having dropped by almost half in 2025; the problem though being that Britain has lost many thousands of people with Skills and effectively replaced them with people who are a drain on society

The British people cannot be trusted again to vote in a Referendum; unfortunately there are far too many ignorant people out there who are increasingly being drawn into the trap of AI misinformation and Tribal prejudices fuelled by Social Media

p.s Potential Labour leader Wes Streeting is possibly not wrong to set out plans for a proposed Wealth Tax that works by equalising Tax on Assets and Income based on the existing bands of 20, 30 & 45% , for government should be pro-Growth, pro-Business ,pro-Entrepreneurship and pro-Productivity rather than continuing on a course that puts more and more money into the pockets of the already wealthy who freely disguise income from work as capital gains with lower tax rates.

It is about time Britain built a Fairer Society with the Wealth gap still widening

Also that UK Universities should focus more on Learning rather than wanting to operate as a Business; they should be more strategic in the courses that they offer by aligning with the actual Skills needed by Business and throughout Society; cease from churning out students with effectively ‘useless degrees’ in the pursuit of Profit. Britain’s problem that of there being far too many Universities and not enough Technical Colleges, a problem that has existed for far too long, seemingly not having been fully addressed by successive inept governments which is one reason why young people today are unable to find work; that and not having been given the necessary social, communication and presentation skills required to succeed in employment where resilience and a capacity for hard work is needed thereby rendering too large a section of young people effectively unemployable; however the government should immediately extend the age to 24 so that all young people aged 18-24 should be exempt from Employers NI which together with the ‘Youth Job Grant’ of £3,000 encourage more businesses to take on young people

p.p.s perhaps a somewhat similar collapse coming from Rory McIlroy who somehow managed to amass no fewer than 6 Bogeys in his first round at the PGA Championship; his entire game in disarray; his Putting quite abysmal and his Wedge play from within 130 yards not anything like as accurate as it should be. If McIlroy could learn to play smart and learn a thing or two from Scheffler, the world No 1 by a long way, he would not make so many unforced Bogeys

A Final Note, in that the time has surely come for Russia’s elite to put an end to Putin’s rule. With 500,000 Russian soldiers already killed in Putin’s War against Ukraine, how many more Russian deaths will the Russian people be prepared to accept as the War gets ever closer to home and the Russian economy continues its decline

Farewell to the many thousands of you good readers, willing as I have been to at least consider ‘Unconstrained Thinking’, be it somewhat alternative at times, that has developed in me over these past few most troublesome and eventful years when the leaders of the world have somehow conspired to create ever more Chaos, Distrust and Divisiveness for all of us to endure in our daily lives; whereby more and more people around the globe are seemingly unable anymore to think and act with any true, honest and meaningful belief in themselves in the interests of the bigger picture; to turn away from their own self-centered behaviour and greed and take greater accountability for their own lives and the effect of their self-absorbed actions on the wider community

To the main stream Media; stop over dramatising every damn thing; just give us the facts and spare us the constant emotion. Time that the British Press ceased from banging on and on and on about ‘Mandy’; Mandelson that is. Given his well documented history, he was always going to be the wrong choice as Ambassador to the good old US of A; anyone with even a modicum of intelligence knew this only too well.Enough is enough; kill the story and let Starmer and his Government,Parliament too, get on with tackling the many more important matters and challenges facing the UK right now. The entire dragged out episode has become infinitely boring and is wasting the time of MP’s who should be focussing on what they are paid to do; that of representing their constituents in a manner by which their priorities, their concerns will be listened to, tabled effectively in the Commons and moved towards arriving at a positive, tangible, measurable and lasting outcome; and not just spending time on endless Talk which would each week seem to be more and more the case with the vast majority of MP’s clearly more interested in the sound of their own voices than looking to make a real difference when it comes to far more pressing matters of State, such as 557 people Dying each day in the UK without access to end of life care. Also it is time that those reporters charged with covering the news for the benefit of TV watchers, refrained from wanting to be ‘Celebrities’ and concentrated more on communicating the salient facts as opposed to trying to become ‘Stars’ themselves. This seemingly unquenchable Spat between Downing Street and the Foreign Office no longer of interest to most of the British people; I well suspect that even Trump is tiring of the whole Political debacle that is ‘MandyGate’ and rightly thinks that the Government should just get on with the business of running the country

and then, we have the UK’s Assisted Dying Bill which has been continually blocked by a bunch of totally out of touch Peers, particularly by seven self-interested souls determined to ignore the more enlightened wishes of The People, who utterly fail to understand that it is the wish of the majority of the British Public to see this Bill enacted before the next General Election. This only goes to show that the House of Lords should be abolished in favour of a second Chamber of wholly elected individuals prepared to put the interests of the people of Britain first and Not themselves. Peers can well afford Private Medical Care to see them through to the end and yet would seem comfortable in the knowledge that many thousands of Britons each year will suffer horribly painful and undignified deaths due to the unfathomable lack of access to End of Life Care in the UK

and then again, the British Prime Minister is absolutely right, Zack Polanski is a prime fool, unfit to lead The Greens or should they more accurately be referred to as The Reds, any Political Party for that matter. The man is devoid of credible policy, short on intellect, absent of acumen and yet decidedly heavy footed when opening his mouth without any proper thought having taken place.The man is justifiably unimpressive, seemingly compulsively economical with the truth at that; a potentially dangerous fool if afforded any power whatsoever who seeks to hypnotise his idolising flock of sheep

Having lived in the UK for the last 30 years I have grown increasingly disillusioned with the state of the nation both economically and socially, disturbed by the increase in prejudice, divisiveness and ignorance amongst the British people who think that a Party such as Reform UK will do anything other than bring even greater misery to an already miserable existence for many. With Farage at the helm, let’s face it the man is in politics for himself and only himself, to further line his own pockets. He is not in the game for the wider good of the country and the people of Britain; here is a man who has No genuine understanding of the bigger picture and has No experience of being in government and of international affairs. He would lead the nation down a path to ruin, just as her did with the grand failure of Brexit that has damaged Britain irreparably for generations to come. Farage in all truth is nothing more than a Pub Politician

It would seem that the under 35’s in England are all too easily hoodwinked into voting for either Reform or the Greens, into believing in a ‘promised land’ of false hope. Neither leader having any integrity whatsoever

and now we have the Labour left v right squabbling like children over who should be the next Prime Minister; should Starmer be replaced by Impetuous Angela to the far left or Weasel Wes or will they play it safe and go for Ideological Ed or even opt for the Populist on the left, Andy; changing Party leader at this time would be suicide for the Labour Party and for the country when it is totally unrealistic to think that there is a ‘superhero’ of sorts out there who can magic Change with all that is going on in the world, much of which is not within the direct control of the UK government. There are no easy answers or quick fixes given the state of the UK economy brought to its knees on account of Brexit, Putin’s warmongering and Trump’s pursuit of power at any cost

I and many others are simply amazed by the apparent lack of intelligence and foresight on show amongst Labour MP’s who think that a change of leader will bring results; one only has to look at the Tory Party to know how disastrous that can prove.What the Labour rebels do not fully understand is that the recent local Council elections have added yet another layer of fragmentation and chaos to society in Britain with 64 Councils now left without a majority, left floating as lame ducks

Like others who can see the writing on the wall, it is time to leave Britain behind for Britain on this trajectory is most assuredly doomed

It is time to draw the curtains on the death of Celebrity Culture, a somewhat pointless culture that is really not a culture at all, more a damning indictment of British Society at large which has become more about Surface than Substance much like it is in America where its people have become increasingly lazy with language and show an inability to articulacy express themselves

An unfortunately growing tribe of mostly fairly talentless people, famed more for their looks, scary in the case of some, than their actual skills to perform

An overblown culture of infatuation and exaggeration at the hands of the Media and by individuals alike looking to associate themselves, their lives with a group of ‘actors & performers’ whose dubious talents can quite often be found to be unworthy of true praise

A so-called culture that has become infinitely boring, mindless even as Celebrities, if we can indeed call them that, jostle for never ending undue attention, especially those who possess the least skills and make the most noise

Do we honestly Care whether a ‘Celebrity of any kind,’ someone who is more likely than not paid handsomely for what is effectively just a Job, a little more glamorous perhaps, but is still just a Job ,thinks so highly of themselves and their pretence at ‘art’

Whether they get married to yet another Celebrity or become divorced for the umpteenth time and whether they have two or more children, boy or girl, of the same biological sex or for that matter if one or more decides to identity differently

Whether they live in the capital or out in the sticks, on a farm or on a country estate with acres upon acres of private land at their disposal, in close proximity to the coast, on an island or in the heart of a sought after village, in a mansion or a penthouse apartment or whether or not they own a second property at home or overseas

Whether they drive a highly expensive new or a decidedly desirable classic car or have just splashed out on a supercar which they probably haven’t even learnt to properly drive, so as to bring even more attention to themselves to further boost their already inflated egos

Whether they exercise regularly in a gym, have a personal trainer or go running or choose to partake in activities such as Pilates or Yoga or simply look whenever possible to chill out on the sofa at home in front of the largest of TV’s with their designer dog/s bought to match with their elaborate interiors or extensive wardrobe filled with the most expensive of brands so that everyone can come to know what they are wearing when out and about in the public eye

Whether they eat healthily or binge regularly on their favourite foods and drink, as to in which latest fashionable restaurant they want to be seen and whether or not they are struggling with their weight or with drug or alcohol addiction or are even obsessed with trying to look younger by way of artificial impairments and the use of Botox so as to disfigure, distort their natural appearance

Whether they tell the world that they have survived cancer when thousands of less fortunate souls have to suffer in silence and with more dignity than any one of them can seemingly muster; why they don’t choose to keep this private ,to themselves ,such potentially life changing matters when it would seem that what they are continually after is ‘look at me, look at me, look at me’, aren’t I wonderful

Whether they take their holidays in a large luxury villa with infinity pool, on a private ocean going yacht or at an exclusive hotel or spa retreat in some remote or exotic location

Whether their chosen pastime involves golf, tennis ,fishing or shooting to kill defenceless animals; hopefully not Darts(definitely Not a Sport)

Of course the true Celebrities, Stars are usually those souls who do not seek out fame and glory at every opportunity, being more humble and wise, with more depth to their talent, so honouring their chosen profession; and why are so many Celebrities, Nobody’s really, especially the ‘ugly’ people involved in Reality Shows(which are far from being even close to reality), being constantly regurgitated so that all we get to see is their faces constantly on our screens

After all there are more important things going on around us ,in the world to consider than being all too frequently dumped upon with wholly uninteresting stories about quite meaningless Celebrities or should we more accurately refer to them as ‘Non-Celebrities’; their constant self-promotion, self-indulgence, self-interest, self-congratulatory lives; perhaps even worse still the overuse and incorrect use of he word ‘Hero’ to describe the actions of a person who has done nothing more than what can be excepted of them in their line of work having taken no risk whatsoever to life

And one has to feel vaguely sorry for the millions of UK TV watchers who have to endure seeing the ex-footballer Peter Crouch (not an especially good one as it happens),as nice as he may be, appear in what would seem to be almost every TV Ad; perhaps the next Ad will see him wearing diapers for clearly he will do anything for money

Celebrity Culture would also appear to be an excuse to constantly misuse the English language for dramatic effect, more often than not to utter coarse or even vulgar exchanges and most certainly exaggerating reality by way of importing unjustified superlatives where superficiality abounds and when money alone would seem to be the driving force

And then there are the Professional Footballers ,largely ridiculously overpaid for kicking a ball around in the hope of scoring a goal with the help of 10 other teammates; unlike in other sports such as golf and tennis where it is the last man or woman standing who deserves the spoils, especially when footballers can be found to be feigning injury, usually identifying the wrong part of the body in the process whilst rolling around on the pitch(good job that Rugby players do not behave in this overly theatrical way) or yet still getting paid for spending much of the match idly sitting on the bench. It is about time that Footballers were re-numerated by means of Performance Pay only

All this before we even get to mention Sports Commentators who seem to want to tell you the same thing over and over again as perfectly exampled by SKY Sports Golf commentators, especially so the American commentators, who decide to alert a more than informed audience to the fact that Scottie Scheffler is the world’s 1 golfer whenever he addresses the ball. It would be infinitely more interesting to know the world ranking of say the other players in the field as they move onto the leaderboard; perhaps though worst still is them constantly describing every shot as a being either tough or dangerous when there are no wrestlers hiding amongst the trees or alligators roaming the greens. The language of sports commentary today seems to have become overly praising, sycophantic, somewhat asinine at times even

Time for Celebrity Culture to be brought to a close, for so-called ‘Celebrities’ to understand that they are nothing special, don’t amount to a ‘hill of beans’ in a world fighting for survival where there are far more important matters to consider, to contend with as a society both domestically and internationally, starting with Unchecked Climate Change, Trump Madness and Wars started by despots the likes of Putin intent on killing of innocent civilians , all of which should never have been allowed to happen

Death to Celebrity Culture in Britain for it has become an unhealthy obsession, an unfortunate Plague

One should ask, what have we all become, have we gotten our priorities utterly wrong in an ever changing and increasingly turbulent world for if you choose to fill your lives watching and reading about the relatively trivial lives of others, then you need to get out more, absorb yourself in other often more interesting cultures, views, read and learn more about what is infinitely more engrossing, inspirational and frequently more insightful, intelligent and ultimately more rewarding a path through life

The UK Government is failing in its duty to protect young persons from all too easily accessing Pornography on the Internet

Government Ministers having previously announced that they were introducing legislation that would require All Pornographic sites to conduct Age Verification Restrictions

However these assurances have still not transpired except in the case of a few well known suspects, commonly accessed sites of the likes of ‘Pornhub’ and ‘Pornpics’

If one were to conduct a search for example akin to ‘images of beautiful mature naked women’ on Google, a plethora of listed sites would present themselves whereby the majority of these sites would not require Age Restriction Verification and where access could well end up not of a Mature viewing as advertised but also incorporate both underage and highly inappropriate images unsuitable for even adult consumption

Clearly more needs to be done and quickly to regulate the Worldwide Web for we are not even talking of the infamous Dark Web but readily available access via regularly used Search Engines

Government Ministers cannot delay any longer from ensuring that any site displaying Pornography can Only be accessed by way of an Age Verification mechanism

Tech Giants must be required to remove All sites hosted on their platforms that do not enforce a requirement for Age Verification

Tech Giants such as Google and TikTok must know that failure to control Pornographic sites/content on their platforms that do not conduct Age Verification checks will result in substantial Fines being imposed by Government

Young persons must be protected from accessing potentially harmful content and with AI deep fake images and videos on the rise

From being exposed to divisive and often distorted communications transacted on Social Media

From the disturbing dangers associated with access to unregulated Pornography leading to disrespect, mistrust and difficulty forming relationships, not to mention the alarming objectivisation of women

From skilful manipulation of minds, even souls posed by fast developing AI Chatbots

As a parent, and already a grandparent, I remain concerned about the effects that Pornography,Social Media and AI Chatbots will continue to have on the young without there being rigorous Safeguards fully in place
